Agenda

MMI London 2026 is built around one central theme: what will the future of financial advice actually look like, and how do firms prepare for it today? The agenda brings together a mix of debate, challenge and practical insight designed to help advisers navigate a market that continues to evolve at pace.

The conference opens with a keynote exploring why an ageing profession needs younger and more diverse talent, examining the barriers preventing new entrants from joining the sector and how firms can adapt to changing expectations around careers, culture and flexibility. Our second annual Young Financial Planner Awards will also celebrate emerging talent within the profession.

Regulation and access to advice will feature heavily throughout the day. A dedicated panel on simplified advice and targeted support asks whether the industry can finally make meaningful progress on the advice gap after years of false starts. Panellists will explore whether the latest reforms can work commercially, operationally and culturally for advisers and clients alike. Global uncertainty also runs through the programme. One panel will examine how investment managers are adapting portfolios to a world shaped by geopolitical tension, supply chain disruption and market volatility, and what advisers need to understand when supporting nervous clients through increasingly unstable conditions.

Elsewhere, two lively debates tackle some of the profession’s most contested issues. One asks whether protection is still being overlooked within financial planning, while another examines whether ongoing consolidation across the advice market risks reducing customer choice and diversity of proposition.

The agenda also looks beyond the UK. A session on international advice markets will explore how firms in other countries are responding to challenges around regulation, technology and client engagement, highlighting ideas that could be transferable to the UK market. There will also be a series of workshops (available to book after registration) and numerous networking opportunities to with fellow professionals.
